Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026 — draft

Draft content. This is standard template language for a two-sided produce marketplace, written as a starting point — it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be adjusted to reflect SeyMarché's actual data practices and Seychelles law before launch.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information SeyMarché ("the Platform", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to farmers, buyers, and anyone else who uses the Platform.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and phone number, collected when you register and complete your profile.

Marketplace activity: listings you create, orders you request or confirm, and messages exchanged as part of using the Platform.

Usage information: log and device data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the Platform.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to operate and maintain the Platform, facilitate orders between farmers and buyers, communicate with you about your account or an order, keep the Platform secure, and improve our service over time.

4. How we share your information

Between farmers and buyers: once an order is confirmed, we share the relevant contact details (such as name, phone number, and email) between the farmer and buyer so they can arrange pickup or delivery directly.

Service providers: we may share information with third parties who help us operate the Platform (such as hosting providers), under obligations to protect it.

Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of SeyMarché, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data retention

We retain account and transaction information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

6. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights and choices

You can review and update most of your account information directly from your profile. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us through our Contact page — we will respond within a reasonable time, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain data.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

The Platform uses your session to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's privacy

The Platform is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users before the changes take effect.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy, or requests relating to your personal information, can be sent to us via our Contact page.
